Itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Costa Rica
Right after migration, the staff will have a board with your name. Please identify yourself.
They will let you know where your luggage will be and how to exit. Then when you exit
the airport you will find another board with your name. Your guide and private vehicle will
be waiting and will transfer you to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, the guide will be
delivering your Welcome Kit, which contains important information for you about the
country, safety tips, maps and vouchers. Your guide will sit down and explain the
itinerary and answer any questions you may have about the trip.

Day 2: ZooAve and Sarchí
In the morning you will visit the ZOO AVE Rescue center.
This center focus on conservation, animal welfare and environmental education. Within the
park you will find beautiful botanical gardens and more than 125 species of animals, among
them birds, mammals and reptiles that have been rescued and, due to health or behavioral
reasons, cannot be fully rehabilitated for reintroduction into their natural habitat. The large
enclosures are naturally designed to offer these animals quality of life and enrichment.
Then, you will visit the town of Sarchi. Recognized artisan village in Costa Rica, Sarchi is
well known for its typical traditional carts made and sold throughout the country. As a
national symbol of Costa Rica, they are elegantly carved and hand-painted with vibrant and
eye-catching colors. The art of painting these beautiful carts is a tradition in Costa Rica that
has been passed down from generation to generation. You will visit one of the largest and
oldest factories in the country, here you can learn about the history and how the carts are
made. You will have lunch in Sarchí and then head back to San José.

Day 3: Natuwa y Monteverde
The Wildlife Sanctuary Natuwa is an excellent place to have a look at the local wild fauna,
as monkeys, jaguars and others. It is a place of refuge and protection where the animals are
given the opportunity to live in a protected environment that is as close to their natural
habitat as possible.
Then, you will have lunch at a small local place, where you will have a taste of the
costarican local cuisine. After lunch, you will head with your private guide to Monteverde
where you be you will be delighted with the mountain views.

Day 4: Monteverde Coffee Tour
In the Natural Cloud Forest Reserve of Santa Elena you will do a guided tour around the
accessible trail, where you may be able to see the famous quetzal. Then, you will have the
opportunity to learn about Costarican coffee and folklore, having a tour at a coffee farm.
Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 5: Monteverde Adventure
Today you will visit an eco park to go to some adventure walks at the hanging bridges in
the middle of the cloud forest. Its a different way of looking at the cloud forest from various
elevations. The Cloud Forest is an endangered ecosystem and one that should be protected.
That is why visiting this forest is important. Then, you will have lunch at a local place and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Las Pumas Rescue Center and Rincón de la Vieja
Today you will visit Las Pumas Rescue Center, a place of rescue, rehabilitation and
reinsertion of the wildlife. The animals that cannot be back at their natural life are placed at
the Sanctuary for the rest of their lives, with the best care possible. Here, you will see
different wild felines as jaguar, puma and ocelots, just as spider and white faced capuchin
monkeys, among other animals. The NGO Fundación Hagnauer runs the Rescue Center and
it keeps working with the visit of tourists, donations and sponsors.
Then, you will have lunch at La Pacifica and drive with your private guide to Hacienda
Guachipelin, a hotel in a historic ranch full of cowboy life in a dry tropical forest.

Day 7: Rincón de la Vieja
Today you will have a guided tour in the accessible trail in Las Pailas Sector of the Rincón
de la Vieja National Park, where you can see some volcanic activity as mud springs and
fumaroles. The national park´s flora is the transition between the tropical and the dry forest.
This area is well known for its conservation of the natural life in the different ecosystems
full of rivers and waterfalls.
Then you have the rest of the day free at leisure. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 8: Santa Rosa National Park and Tamarindo Beach
Today you will have a guided walking tour in the accessible trail in the Santa Rosa National
Park, in the middle of the dry forest. And you can also visit La Casona which is a historic
building where took place the most famous battle in Costa Rica: Battle of Santa Rosa in
1856.
Then you will go to have lunch at Liberia and head in your private transport to Tamarindo,
where you will have some beach time.

Day 9: Beach Day at Tamarindo
Today is a beach day! You will enjoy Tamarindo´s lifestyle with an amphibious chair at
your disposal, so you can get into the sea or just move around the sand. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 10: Back to San José
Private transfer from Tamarindo to San José. Lunch is included and you are free to have the stops you need on the way.
