Itinerary Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, the team will pick you up to transfer you to Arusha city, where you will reach your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will get a briefing and introduction to your safari and itinerary.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the tour will depart, first into Arusha town for any additional things you may need.
Then you will head on safari, starting at Tarangire National Park for a game drive, and a picnic lunch.
Tarangire is well known for its great elephant population, and baobab trees.
The park is right at the centre of a huge annual migratory cycle, including up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast the tour will depart, from town and then towards Lake Manyara.
Lake Manyara National Park offers a great range of breathtaking views and a diverse variety of habitats to explore, including acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the central lake itself.
Thanks to this the small park is able to support a dense variety of animal life.
Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, and the lions are renowned for their tree climbing.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you will travel to Serengeti National Park, through the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Through the highlands, you will descend into the heart of wild Africa at Serengeti National Park - with endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.
At the centre you will travel to the Seronera area, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable source of water and attracts one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.
You will arrive in time for lunch, and throughout the afternoon enjoy a game drive.
Day 5: Full Day Game Drive
You will have a full day game drive through Northern Serengeti, travelling to Mara River, making the scene of some of the most dramatic river crossings in animal migration.
Fierce and deep, sided by cliffs, and swollen with rain, migrating cattle attempting to cross the torrential flow often drown or fall victim to crocodile.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
Early in the morning you will depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
You will take a stop at Olduvai Gorge, historic for the famous discovery of the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, significant links in the chain of human evolution.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend 600 metres into the crater to view the wildlife.
Supported by year-round water, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.
It also has a dense population of predators too, with lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and with a trained eye, leopards.
Afterwards you will visit Lake Magadi, a small, alkaline lake, one of the crater’s main features.
Large numbers of flamingos and other water birds, along with hippos, can be found here. In the late afternoon you will have a return transfer to Arusha.
You can stay for dinner and overnight, or drop off at the airport.
