Overview
This 5 day Garden Route tour explores South Africa’s coastal paradise! Tranquil beaches with dramatic
mountain backdrops, exciting mountain passes, relaxing forests and unique animal encounters
are just a few highlights. This is a perfect add-on after our 12 Day Kruger & Cape Town tour.
You will fly into Cape Town on your date of arrival and stay in the a fully accessible
Guest House situated in the rustic Noordhoek, with its delightful village atmosphere at
the foot of the famous Chapman’s Peak, and the most scenic coastal drive along the renowned
Cape Point Route in Cape Town, South Africa. It offers 4 accessible rooms and Bed & Breakfast for everybody.
It is the perfect gateway to explore the Peninsula with beaches,
shopping centre, post office, bank and all amenities within 3km.
Day tours and transfers are available on request.
After a few days of relaxing and seeing the sights of Cape Town, you will be ready to start your
tour. There are a variety of accessible vehicles available, depending on the group size.
All accessible vehicles are especially adapted by qualified mechanical engineers for
passengers in wheelchairs to travel in total safety and comfort.

The guest house has a large lounge with full size Satellite TV and
fireplace, free WiFi in all rooms, Swimming pool, barbeque (braai), relaxing fish pond,
veranda deck with amazing sunsets through mature trees with the Atlantic
Ocean in the distance.
There are 2 spacious en-suite family rooms with a sleeper couch each,
as well as 2 double/twin rooms (with their own separate bathrooms but NOT en-suite),
all with accessible roll-in showers and very inviting comfortable beds. The bathrooms have
roll-in showers grab rails and non-slip tiles.
DAY ONE
Travel to pretty Hermanus (only in season) which is famous for its miracle of nature as the
Antarctic whales come into Walkers Bay to calve (seasonal). Our route to Mossel Bay is via
farmlands of apple/pear orchards and rolling hills with lunch on route. From here we drive along
the scenic route to Sedgefield, our overnight stop for 2 nights.
DAY TWO
After a good breakfast we drive via Georges and the picturesque Outeniqua Pass to the Mecca of
South African ostrich farming - Oudtshoorn. Here you can visit the world famous and stunning
dripstone cave - Cango Caves* (optional cost as it is not wheelchair accessible at all!), one of
the many Ostrich Show Ranches and the Cango Wildlife Farm. After a leisurely drive back with
breathtaking views we relax for the 2nd night at Sedgefield.
DAY THREE
Today we drive to Knysna, trough Wilderness and the Lake District, one of the world's most
picturesque drives. After a fascinating stop at Knysna Head and a boat cruise* (weather dependant)
on Knysna Lagoon we travel to the heart of the Garden Route - the Tsitsikamma National Park which
embraces an 80km strip of superb coastline together with a marine reserve that stretches 5 km
offshore. Here you can relax or take walks in the forest which is richly endowed with plant life
and birds, the rock pools teem with colourful marine life; whales, dolphins & sea otters can
often be seen sporting close to the shoreline.
DAY FOUR
In the morning you have the chance to visit the Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Elephant
Sanctuary* where you can do a "Trunk in hand tour" (Elephant-back Ride* also available on request
at optional cost) or you can take some time out and just relax. Our journey then takes us to
Stormsriver, the Adventure centre of the Garden Route with the Bloukrans Bungi-jump* (216M!!),
one of the highest in the world. We take a leisurely drive along more fantastic coastline before
returning to Tsitsikamma Forest for the second night.
DAY FIVE
On our last day we take a leisurely drive along the breathtaking coastline to the 5th largest city
in South Africa - Port Elizabeth, also known as "friendly city" or "windy city". On arrival in
PE the tour ends.
Once in Port Elizabeth you have the opportunity to stay in the beautiful Port Elizabeth Radisson
Blu Hotel opposite the Blue Flag Beach and nearby the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment.
Travellers can stay here for a number of nights and either fly up to Durban to stay in the
Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani Hotel to check out the Victoria Indian Markets and uShaka
Marine World, or they can take a flight up to Johannesburg to the Southern Sun O.R Tambo
International Airport which offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.
If you wish to explore Johannesburg for a few days before travelling home, trips to Sun City and
Gold Reef City can be arranged.
Please note that the above itinerary can also run in reverse and other changes may occur due to
accommodation availability or other unforeseen circumstances.
