This is a cottage specifically designed for wheelchair users and those with mobility problems, with a fantastic setting in the High Weald – an area of outstanding natural beauty – within easy reach of Tunbridge Wells and London. The cottage is in a traditional, working farm, including sheep, hens, and pigs.
Access
The cottage is fully accessible throughout, featuring complete level access. One bedroom includes two electric profiling beds, and both bedrooms have their own ensuite accessible wet room – with a remote control, grab handles throughout, and a raised toilet. The cottage also includes a fantastic fully accessible kitchen with a lowered hob and sink, and floor standing kitchen units. A variety of mobility equipment is available at the site free of charge, including a portable hoist, self-propelled shower commode chair, and wheelchair.
Accommodation
This is an eighteenth century, newly converted single storey stone cottage; decorated tastefully with oak beams, galleried landings, and vaulted ceilings; and includes its own private garden, with adjacent parking. The cottage includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the living room features a flat screen television and Freeview. The cottage is surrounded by astounding panoramic views of the High Weald, making for an excellent, memorable stay. For large groups, this cottage can also be booked with other on-site non-accessible cottages, for anything from celebrations to family get-togethers.
Facilities
The cottage includes a fully-equipped self-catering kitchen, decorated in oak and granite, featuring everything you need to make a variety of meals during your stay. The kitchen will include a fridge freezer with an ice dispenser, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, and oven.
The cottage has a south-facing terrace and private garden, complete with flower beds, furniture, BBQ facilities, and amazing views.
The cottage features lots of entertainment, with maps and guides, books, games, videos, and DVDs, along with play equipment. There is an outdoor pool, heated throughout the summer months. The cottage also includes internet access.
