Delphini Studios are specially designed private ground floor studios, adapted for travellers with restricted mobility and wheelchairs, set in a charming olive grove in the heart of Kamari Bay, in Kefalos on the beautiful island of Kos in Greece. Perfect for getting away from it all, the studios are only 250 metres from the beach.
Kos is a Greek Island in Greece’s Dodecanese islands and is known for its beautiful beaches, warm welcome and sunshine. The resorts are mainly flat and easily accessible, Kefalos village has many different architectures and houses squeezed along narrow streets, alongside traditional coffee houses and shops. Kos is steeped with history with many ruins, castles and memorials including one of the island’s most famous residents, Hippocrates, who is recognised to be the Father of Modern Medicine.
Access
The owners have many years of experience in living with disabilities and running a business catering to aid mobility. Each area around the studio has been purposefully designed with this in mind.
The wet room features non-slip tiling, with level access to the wheel-in shower. The shower features a shower seat and assistance rails, and includes a curtain for privacy. The toilet has fold down rails, and the wash basin includes lever action taps and rails. The bathroom door is sliding.
One bed in the accessible bedroom is a profiling bed, which is height, head, and knee adjusting. It features a specialized comfort mattress, and optional side rails can be added. Lighting can be controlled from the bed. The wardrobe has sliding doors, with split level hanging space.
The kitchen features lever action taps. The kitchen also includes under counter cupboard, and a reduced height worktop.
Accommodation
The studios feature their own private driveway and parking. Outside there is an olive grove and gardens, a large patio and sun terrace, sun canopy, tables and chairs, and additional sun loungers are available on request. Inside, the studios feature a full-equipped self-catering kitchen, wet room, and an accessible twin bedroom. A third bed or cot can be added, though this could restrict mobility.
Facilities
The kitchen offer guests a fridge, compact oven, hob, and a kettle for self-catering. Included with your stay are tea and coffee facilities. A minibar and snack items are available, at a small charge.
There is a supermarket next door to your accommodation, and delivery to your studio is available.
Baggage storage is offered. At a small charge, there is laundry services, and late check out can be arranged.
Suitable For
The studios would make for a great relaxing stay, in a quiet and private area of a secluded Greek island, right on the beach and with all your basic needs taken care of.
Equipment
It is possible to arrange some mobility equipment in Kos, such as walkers, mobility scooters and wheelchairs. It is not possible to arrange hoists or profile beds.
