Villa Luz do Sol enjoys panoramic sea views, a peaceful location is ideally suited for wheelchair users and their families. Sleeps 7 plus two babies/toddlers. Close to amenities and beautiful accessible beaches but having rural appeal usually only found far inland. This south west facing property enjoys magnificent sunsets and a large accessible enclosed landscaped garden, with lawn, illuminated pool & pool lift.
Villa Luz do Sol is situated in Vale Formoso (Beautiful Valley) in the hills above Almancil, south of Loule, central Algarve, Portugal. Set in a private and peaceful location with a green and verdant garden, there is an abundance of bird life, Ideal for family holidays with a family member with disabilities and wheelchair users, Luz do Sol is close to wheelchair accessible beaches yet has rural appeal usually only found far inland. Ideally suited for families of all ages, the elderly, babies and teenagers, this unique property is for all the family to relax and enjoy a great holiday, amongst the Algarve's amazing coastline and friendly culture. The villa is spacious and light with ample space for wheelchairs to manoeuvre.
Access
The villa is all on one floor and where needed there are ramps for wheelchairs. One of the en-suite bedrooms and bathroom has been adapted especially for the use of wheelchair users, with 90cm wide clear door openings. There is a Pool lift, hoist with various different size of slings, shower/commode chairs I have two, shower trolley, loo raiser, lower hanging rail in the wardrobe, grab bar above the bed, level access shower with garb rails.
A complementary WAV is provided for you and included in the price of your stay at this villa.
The private pool has shallow Roman entry steps leading into the water and a pool lift operated by batteries installed by the pool. Any mobility equipment that is not kept and included in the villa rental can be arranged with the local mobility hire company on your behalf.
There are three main covered terraces outdoors, spacious to move about on for wheelchair users with ramps where needed and a pathway to the pool. The main entrance door is 80cm wide clear door opening. There are two steps down into the lounge where there is a ramp especially designed for wheelchair use.

Light and very spacious lounge with two large double French windows taking advantage of the spectacular views, and leading onto covered terraces.
Kitchen:
Large spacious kitchen with plenty of work tops, well equipped. A large dining table that seats 7 comfortably. Views from the kitchen window to the north valley, lake, and horse riding school.
Bedroom 1:
large bedroom with 2 x twin beds.
Bedroom 2:
large bedroom with double bed. Large French windows overlooking sea views lead onto a covered balcony complete with tables and chairs.
Bedroom 3:
Adapted large bedroom with a King size bed which can be changed to two large single beds, or a hired hospital bed if required. Large French windows lead directly on to villas private gardens. En suite spacious bathroom, with a 90cm wide doorway, level access shower room, with grab rails and manual shower/commode chair, toilet raiser, bidet, toilet grab rails
Bedroom 4:
single bed with doors leading to onto a terrace offering views to the valley and lake.
Facilities
The villa offers private landscaped gardens and a large pool which enjoys panoramic views to the coast There are plenty of sun loungers to relax and enjoy the Algarvian sunshine.
When booking with Luz do sol you will have complementary use of one of the WAVs Renault kangoo one seats 4 people plus wheelchair and the other seats 3 plus wheelchair.
Airport transfers are also included with in the rental price, to make your journey as stress free as possible.
The pool has a solar cover, which heats the water up very well.
Also included are Wi-Fi, Satellite TV UK channels, Hi-Fi system, a book shelf that is full of books to read and an open log fire place. There is also Lego and a train set for the kids.
For the hotter months air conditioning can be arranged and for the cooler months under floor heating can be arranged (extra charges may apply).
The villa also has an abundance of information on the Algarve, activities, beaches and place of interest for the whole family including information for the disabled i.e. karting, sailing and accessible restaurants. There is plenty of private parking on level ground in front of the entrance door.
The owner lives on the lower level of the property with separate garden and parking, the villa is on the higher level with no overlooking, and privacy, however if there is any problems the owner is fluent in Portuguese and English and will assist in any emergencies.
Food and Drink
The villa is self-catering and the kitchen contains all the necessary equipment and tools you would require to make the perfect meal. Enjoy lazy lunches and starry evening BBQ dinners at the large outdoor stone dining table.
Suitable For
Casa Luz do Sol is the ideal location for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday for the disabled, able bodied and children kept at the villa is also two cots, high chairs and baby car seats for the complimentary WAV.

Approximate flight time from London to Faro 2.5 hrs, you will be met at the airport in a WAV. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Luz do sol, where you will have use of one of the complementary Renault Kangoos.

Airport transfers are include in the rental price in wheelchair adapted vehicles. Transfer time is approximately 15 mins from Faro airport.
