Location
The dream with the Rings started with just a small cottage with a ceiling tracking hoist. It has now grown to include a 16 bed cottage, 6 cabins and wilderness camping. The fully accessible, 4 star rated holiday cottage is a unique property that can sleep up to 16 people. The cottage can also be sub-divided to allow smaller groups to book what they need.

The Rings is set in 90 acres of peaceful Fife farmland. It has stunning views and rural walks across the Howe of Fife to the Lomond Hills. St Andrews is 20mins away, Dundee only 35mins and Edinburgh an hours drive. Perthshire and the Angus glens are all within easy reach for day trips.

The Rings came out of a desire to help those who need a holiday, something many of us take for granted. The owner's own family experiences planted the seed of Accessible Tourism and she has become passionate about it.

Access
The concept with the Rings was always to create a place where families of all abilities could holiday in comfort. That's why the corridors had wheelchair accessibility built into them from the start. The accommodation is all on one level and all the doorways are wide enough to fit most wheelchairs through. Turning circles have also been thought about in each of the rooms making it the ideal place to come and stay.

There are ceiling track hoists in three of the ensuite bedrooms leading to wet rooms with baths. The decor takes account of those with sensory impairments and the sound proofed walls ensure a peaceful stay.

  • 8 bedrooms are en-suite
  • 2 Studio rooms with fridge, oven and hob
  • 2 lounge/kitchen/dining areas separated by a moveable wall
  • 3 rooms have ceiling tracking hoist
  • 1 "Chiltern" portable hoist motor available for hire.
  • Wide corridors
  • Turning circles built into every room
Some of the rooms are able to take a profile bed. It is important that this is discussed at time of booking.

The Rings also has a wheel chair accessible car. It can hold a wheelchair user, driver and two further passengers. Should you wish to make use of it, please contact us for more details.

Accommodation
The cottage
The cottage at the Rings is a collection of rooms that can accommodate families/groups of up to 16 people. The wall between the two main living areas (the Machray Lounge and the Hendersoon Lounge) can move to make one open plan space. The house can be sub-divided to allow smaller groups to book what they need. Guests can create their own package to suit their requirements. The owners are happy to discuss room combinations and options at time of booking.

Every bedroom has double french windows opening out onto decking, which leads to the parking areas.

Guests can create their own package to include any number of the following:
