Location
Birchbrae provides the ideal opportunity for those with a disability to have a luxurious self-catering break near Glencoe and Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland. Picture yourself sitting on the veranda of your wooden lodge with a spicy glass of shiraz or a fine malt whisky. It is dusk outside and the only sounds are the far off cry of a barn owl and the lullaby of distant waves gently breaking on the shore of the loch. This utter moment of peace is not a dream, at Birchbrae it is a reality.
Access
The lodge features disabled parking directly outside, and has ramped access to the single storey accommodation. Plenty of floor space is provided to ensure turning room for a wheelchair. In the master and rear bedroom, and the enlarged veranda, the floors are wooden for ease of movement. The bathrooms feature a wheel-in shower.
Please Note: This accommodation may not be suitable for larger electric wheelchairs and scooters.
Accommodation
The lodge is spacious, featuring three bedrooms - a King-size double room and two twin rooms, and two bathrooms with showers. The kitchens are fully-fitted with self-catering facilities allowing you to cook your own meals, and the large lounges have a range of comfortable furniture, 42" flat-screen surround-sound home cinema TV system, and a provided DVD and CD library. Outside, you can sit or dine on the veranda with a midge-killing machine. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is provided.

All electricity, linen, and towels are included. There is a small supply of dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, bin liners, kitchen roll, toilet rolls, and hand wash. For anything else you're running low on, there is a nearby supermarket. Other items include a torch, clothes airer, iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. You will need to supply your own food and drink, personal toiletries, and washing powder.
When you stay with the lodge, you receive a 20% discount at local leisure and adventure activities. And if you're planning on staying at home rather than going out, on top of your home cinema and internet connection, board games are also provided.
