Hamilton Cottage is set in the Scottish Borders countryside near Melrose. Edinburgh, the coasts of Northumberland and Berwickshire are all within an easy one-hour drive. This cottage was designed from the realisation that it was very difficult for families with disabled and severely disabled members to find any suitable self-catering holiday accommodation with facilities for all the family to take a holiday together.

Accommodation
This spacious cottage with wonderful views over the Tweed valley consists of a large open-plan living room/dining area, kitchen, large bedroom and a fully accessible wheel-in shower room with WC. The property is best suited to 2 guests, however an extra person could be accommodated on a Z-bed (additional charge). The living area has a feature electric fire and is particularly large for a 1 bedroom cottage offering a 3-piece suite. The large master bedroom has twin beds however the mattresses can be zipped together to form a luxurious super-king size double bed.
Well behaved dogs are also very welcome in this cottage (extra charge) with plenty of walks right on the doorstep. The cottage is surrounded by open gardens with stunning views over Melrose and the Tweed valley.
There are charcoal BBQs for guest use together with picnic tables and even an open barn in case you need to shelter from the Scottish sun (or possible rain!).
The cottage is kept cosy by state of the art eco-friendly biomass heating system which is on 24 hours a day with temperature control in the cottage.
The centre of Melrose (Sunday Times 2018 winner of Best Place to Live in Scotland) is only a 10-15 minutes walk away (0.5 miles) or 2 minutes in the car.

TV with Freeview, DVD/VHS player, books, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, oven, hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine & tumble dryer.
