The building is located in a quiet, residential area in upper Barcelona. A direct, fully accessible train connection is in front of the building and will take you within 15 minutes to Las Ramblas and Plaza Cataluña. Bars, restaurants and supermarket are located within a stones throw.
Access
One visitor to Barcelona described it as "the most accessible city in Spain we have visited and we plan to return again and again as it was a pleasure to be in a place so full of historical buildings and yet so much energetic innovation going on." Most of the pavements are ramped, even in the old Barri Gotic. There are plenty accessible buses with a ramp that comes down easily to floor level allowing for easy access. Most of the bars and cafes have a small step or a ramp and the new waterfront area with the Rambla del Mar is accessible as is much of the Eixample district above Placa Catalunya.

MICs Sant Jordi presents a new concept for accessible accommodation in Barcelona for people with physical impairments. It offers 32 self-catering 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for 1-4 people. All apartments are fully adapted for people with special needs, with wheel in showers with folding shower seat, and grab rails. Apartments are equipped with full kitchens including hob, fridge and dishwasher, and all have TVs and WiFi. Rooms also have air conditioning and underfloor heating. Beds for disabled guests are electric beds with high density foam matresses.
Facilities
Facilities at MICs Sant Jordi include a gym with physiotherapist, an adapted therapeutic pool with pool hoist, mutipurpose room with TV and WiFi, and restaurant/bar.
There is a communication system for requesting healthcare, and medical equipment available for use.
